Asheville at the Diana Wortham w/ Darlingside

We had a lovely show at the Diana Wortham Theatre last night in Asheville, NC. It was a large seated venue with beautiful acoustics and nice lighting. It was our first show of this tour! We were happy to see our friends in Darlingside. It's surprising that it has been almost a year since we last hung out with them, because it feels much more recent. It was Elisabeth's first time meeting and seeing them. We got ready during Darlingside's notoriously long soundcheck, and then had our short sound check. We got to run some songs, which was nice because we have not played a show together since the end of August, and Elisabeth learned harmonies to songs we had never sung together. Everything sounded great and we were very excited. I wore the long black skirt I got out of my mothers' dress up, which was fitting because it was her birthday, and a lil light blue crop top tank top and a dark blue handkerchief round my neck. We started at exactly 7:30 pm and the theatre was quite full. Here is our set list :

Benny, Cigarette, What Can I Do, Quarantine, Alice, Gold, Red Neck Yaught Club, End Of Your Song

Everything went very well and Elisabeth's harmonies sounded awesome and it seemed like the crowd enjoyed the show.

Darlingside played soon after and they were very fun. They have one new band member named Denni, and she plays keys and sings harmonies. Molly Pardon is on bass and singing harmonies as well. And Ben Burns on drums and percussion and all sorts of instruments. My favorite song they played was off their newest album and it is called Green Light. It is a wild musical trip of a song with Harris singing lead.

We were starving by the end of their set, so we ended up at the Double Crown, which is the only bar I ever really hung out at back in the day, and it happened to be Western Wednesday, which was always my fave night to be there. So we ran into a bunch of friends I had not yet seen, and ate hot dogs and had a drink each. It was a lovely way to cap off a wonderful Asheville visit. Now on to Atlanta!
