Got into Sellersville and hit up a thrift store where Dave bought a large lamp for $3. He was very excited about it.
We arrived to the Sellersville Theatre to see that the sign read “Pokey LaFarge with Lisa Stancioff”. This did not take me by too much surprise, as misspellings of my name happen all the time, but a totally wrong first name was a bit rattling..! The Sellersville Theatre is an old fashioned establishment in an otherwise empty town, and has a sorta 1920’s movie theatre aesthetic in the lobby area. It is a seated auditorium, so very different than the private or rock club atmospheres from the previous venues. We were provided with a delicious catered meal from the restaurant next door, and we had our own private green room. It’s been nice to have these private greenrooms the past two nights, but we kinda miss hanging with the other band backstage pre show. Matt took over the merch booth and set it up to perfection, with lollipops artfully placed. Unbeknownst to us, whilst in Pittsburgh, Tim poured all of his leftover halloween candy into our merch suitcase.. we’ve been trying to get rid of it since.
We were excited to know that our friends Chelsea and Jacklyn were coming from south jersey to see the show, so we had a nice lil hello with them before we went on. We also, of course, watched some Love Island in the green room.
I was seriously beginning to lose my voice, so I was trying to take it easy chatting before hand. A lady came up to the greenroom to Shepard us down to the stage when the time was right, and I made sure to tell her to say Louisa, not Lisa, when introducing us. Surprisingly, they said first and last name correctly!
We had a really fun set with a lovely audience. I think we’ve become a lot tighter since the first show, and we are all loosening up on stage because of it. Funny that the tighter you get, the looser you can feel. According to Jacklyn, I had some brash banter on stage, but she said it was working! Perhaps the sweet innocent songs mixed with the not so innocent humor is the direction we should keep going..
Our merch table was quite the scene after, and we were thankful for it. Lots of CDs were sold, and many email sign ups to be had. I especially love when parents come up with their kids after and the kids are all dreamy eyed. It means so much to me because I remember being that kid, and it doesn’t feel so long ago. It reminds me see things in perspective and makes me feel like it is so worth every moment of these wild excursions. But gosh, I can’t wait to have a real album to sell. I love selling these lil live recorded EPs and signing them for people (especially kiddos), but it will feel so magical to have a vinyl to sell when the time comes.
People were very hyped on our performance, and there were many compliments to the band !
We had a fun time hanging with our friends out in the lobby, and then we were on our merry way to Ardmore, PA to stay with Gigi. A lovely sleep and a short coffee hang with her in the morning, and now we are on our way to Hamden, CT, where we are playing the Space Ballroom tonight and meeting up with Dan Kelly and Mariah Keeler!! For those of you who do not know, Dan is our talented guitar player and Mariah will be holding down the merch and bringing good vibes.
Also, we just learned that Darlingside played here just last night !! See previous blog posts to read about our epic tour with Darlingside in September.
