Park City & Bozeman

The stage in Park City was as humungous as it was hot. We sound checked, and luckily Matthew (Blitzen's sound guy) had decided he was doing our sound, because apparently every person working this outdoor concert series had no idea what they were doing. No one knew the answer to any questions - like even where the closest bathroom was or where we could get some water. But Matthew ran a good sounding show for us, and the crowd was welcoming. The sun was still directly on us during the show though, and Matt Gaillet had a close call during I Can't Say when the stage appeared to him to be coming up at him. He almost passed out so I told him to take a break and I did a few songs by myself. He came out for the last two and we finished strong with Figured You Out and a new one of mine, Back On Fire. I had a few sweet friends show up who were very fun to catch up with, I sang Miss Ohio with Blitzen once again, and then we were happy to head back down to Salt Lake City back to Tommy and Kelsey's house with their sweet doggy, Evie.

We drove the long, beautiful drive to Bozeman the next day and had such a fun time. We stopped at an Idaho Goodwill and got a good haul, found a strange but amazing Harry Potter themed coffee shop, and took some good pictures & videos in the beautiful Gallatin National Forest. I also posted a TikTok of Matt in a gas station looking for seltzer (all his idea), and it went viral within hours. It's now at almost 400,000 views and thousands of comments. My only viral video - of course totally unrelated to music!

We made it into Bozeman, got some Jimmy John's and then went to a bangin country show at The Filling Station. Margot Cilker, who Matthew Zeltzer used to manage and is good friends with, was playing with her sweet band, and the place was HOT - like pass out hot. I only had one cider cause I just needed to much water. My college friend Brady stopped in and we had fun hanging and enjoying the music. We got to meet the whole band after, and then we had a sweet coincidence when we ran into our old Missoula friend Caroline, who is one of Izaak Opatz's oldest and goodest friends, and who happened to have been the opening band for Margot that eve! We were bummed we had missed her, and that she would be missing our shows the next few nights too, but it was sweet to give her a hug and catch up.

Matt and I went to another bar with Matthew after because we owed him some drinks for running our sound the night before and we love him dearly. Matt Gaillet and I had zero idea where we would be sleeping that night, but we ended up at a trailhead a few minutes up the road. We set up our sleeping pads and cowboy camped out under the stars. It was a dark night, so we didn't even know we were at a trailhead, just that it was technically national forest and there were no explicit "no overnight parking" signs, so we figured we'd be fine. We both slept soundly till around 9am - even though people started showing up to hike the trail at 5am. I sat up and looked around to see an extremely busy parking area. A ranger lady approached me to kindly tell me that this was the busiest hiking trail in Bozeman and that, for obvious reasons, we weren't supposed to camp there. I told her we'd gotten in super late and that we would be leaving very soon! She said it was totally fine, just her job to let me know that we can't camp there next time. I was surprised no one had woken us sooner, not even a curious dog, but we got out of there fast to get some coffee and a swimming hole.

Hyalite Reservoir

We swam in a pond in town and then drove up to Hyalite Reservoir and took a nice chilly dip. We headed to the venue, took showers, naps and sound checked, and got hyped for the show. The Elm is a beautiful, new venue with pristine sound and a lovely staff. We played one of our best shows yet to a fun crowd of welcoming attentive humans, including some old SLU friends, who offered to host us after. The merch table was popping off after and everyone was so nice. We had the best hang with these SLU friends at the Crystal bar that night. They're all a bit younger than me, so I don't know them super well, but they're the best, and now we are great friends!

Today we drove to Missoula! Immediately jumped in the Clarke Forke river! So good to be back in this beautiful town. Can't wait for the Wilma tonight!

Bout to hit the stage!
